The genius behind the diet is the wonderful gastroenterologist Walter L. Voegtlin who popularized it first in the mid-1970s.

Several modern authors have started to get into the trend and popularized it again for the 21st century generations.

He believed that in order to be healthy, a person should eat a minimal amount of carbohydrates (about 100g) and a majority of protein and fats, all healthy of course.

Which is why, in most instances, a paleo-friendly diet is pretty carnivorous in a sense; you get to eat a lot of meat, fish, and nuts.

Believe me, you are always so full from all the food you eat. Yes, you read right, this specific diet makes you feel full and it’s also very nutritive.

Although you eat in larger amounts, the diet helps in a lot of ways.

It can reduce your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases that tend to affect a lot of the western civilization.

As any good and healthy diet, it can also help you lose weight and improve your athletic performance all the while helping you sleep better.

Paleo Diet Benefits

  • Reduced risk of heart disease
  • Reduced risk of type 2 diabetes
  • Weight loss

The paleo diet is known to have great effects and is very healthy, although extremely carnivorous.

Doctors are still trying to perfect it by changing the percentages here and there of the macronutrients, but we believe it’s pretty much at its peak at the moment.

Everyone is getting on the wonderfully healthy bandwagon of the paleo diet, and we can certainly see why!
